i say go for it!
i did one flake job and that was enough.
i actually used a candy base and actual glitter of all colors. man did it come out ROUGH!!!
took tons of sand and clear to smooth out but in the end, all worked out, what can you say, it was the 60's.

Prime it, base it, frost it and clear it.
Sounds simple doesn't it? It is a lot of work though.
Back in the 70's in Bakersfield, a neighbor gathered several of us kids to take stencils to his car with a hobby brush... all over it.
He then sanded it all smooth and cleared it.
Looked crazy, I didn't care for it but it got me out of some homework.

If I can find the right paint I'll probably pay a professional with experience to do the job. I know how difficult these things can be for an amateur like me.

I'm trying to replicate my older brothers first Sportster. It's the bike that really put me on the path of motorcycles so many years ago.

for whatever reason no pictures of that bike exist. I am having to do everything from memory. And as he didn't actually build the bike he wasn't aware of how some things were done.

And no idea of the actual color it was painted. Just my memory.
