Default rethreadable?

i was installing a new clutch cable and stripped the first few threads where the cable threads into the transmission case. Is it possible to re tap the threads so i dont have to take off the case.

Probably possible to repair but it could head south in a hurry if ham handed. Serious skill and finesse required.

Or wave your hands in the air like you just don't care.

6 bucks won't break the bank.

But I agree completely. I'd do helicoil fix like paul suggested on mine. My recommend is a on the road fix.
