It's not a mistake. It the actual new oil level you need, learn how to do a scavenge oil change with the unplug return line. Now you just change 2.8 out out of 3.8 liters. Exactly as going at the garage with your car and seing the mechanician pouring 3 liters of new oil and going in the old oil tank getting another liter and pouring it in your motor. I bet you would yell at him, now kick yourself in the butt and do a scavenge oil change.
Empty your tank.
Replug your oil bag ande pour in two liters.
Unplug your return line, battery side.
Start the engine and let rev until you see new oil coming out of the return line.
Replug the return line, now change your oil filtre.
Add oil to bottom of dip stick, run the engine about a minute.
Check oil level and add to your taste.
Now you have an engine with new motor oil in it, no more 1 liter of old oil mixing with your new one.
