I carry plugs and a compressor in my truck.
Fixed several and no problems for the life of the tire.
I agree with what BKB says as the right way to fix a tire. Plugs just worked out for me
John Deere makes stuff like the "slime" and have used that with success on my tractor. Probably very similar, green also

I have used the dynaplug product and didn't have any loss of air but it did take two to plug the hole.

As always in the UK there is some rules and regs around fixing motorcycle tyres related to their speed rating.
Some tyres are not to be plugged at all requiring them to be changed but I would take that as long term. If I had to fix my tyre so I could get home I am going to do it.

z rated and lower
shops need to have their asses covered

Picked up a nail in a new tire. Put a rope plug in and the first chance I got I pulled the tire and put an inside patch. Left the rope plug in to fill the hole, just trimmed it smooth on the inside. I intended to change out the tire after about 1000 to 1500 miles, this was a rear tire. Seems I forgot about the patch and changing the tire out after 8000 miles (no more tread) I noticed the inside patch! The patch had oozed into the nail hole around the plug. Don't know if the patch would have held for another 1000 miles or another 8000 miles. And I don't know if this is common. But it worked that time.

It's been about 2 weeks and 450 miles later, and the tire is not leaked almost at all. I like it.

Update: 3 months and over 3,000 miles later, and the plug is holding, and not leaking more than the undamaged front tire does.
I'm impressed.

I picked up a #10 deck screw in my rear the other day and I just rope plugged it and plan to run out the tire... I have the next set or rubber to go on in the shed for this fall...
A better way is to pull the tire and vulcanize a patch on the inside but that was too much work LOL
Remember dont pull it out of the tire until your ready to fix it
