Default Michelin Commander 3

You heard right.. Michelin Commander THREE is now available. Comes in two forms, "touring" and "cruiser". From what i've gathered, "touring" is the high mileage tire, and "cruiser" is more all around with better wet grip.

Interesting, I was thinking I would go with the Dunlop American Elite next time but I have over 20,000 miles on my Commander IIs.

MICHELIN® Commander® III Cruiser tires offer the best wet grip and the shortest stopping distances in wet conditions among leading competitors*

*Based on internal test conducted in Fontange, France using a 2016 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight fitted with 130/90 B 16 front tire and 150/50 B16 rear tire
comparing lap times and stopping distances of MICHELIN® Commander® III Cruiser tires
with METZELER® CruisetecTM, METZELER® M888 MarathonTM Ultra, and DUNLOP® Elite 4 tires. Actual on-road results may vary.

I didn't the correct size for my 2013 XL1200C in the "Touring" Commander III

I've been using Commander II for the last few tires. I'll for sure think about these.

Interesting. Nothing except a "touring" front that fits my 17" rear, 18" front combo.

Was checking prices on the C III's compared to Metz 888's at Iron Pony in Columbus, OH. $315 the pair for the C III's. $260 for the 888's. I won't need tires, hopefully, till next spring, but the C III's are gonna have to get some long miles to get me to spend another $45. Like at least 20% more. Best I've ever got from a rear tire is 13,000. I'll have to see a review from someone here, that they got over 16,000 on a C III rear, on their Sportster, before I consider spending that much more. I tried the C II's & was very disappointed in the wet performance braking & acceleration. Running Dunlop American Elite on the rear & Elite 4 on the front right now. Good traction, but only got 12,000 miles on the previous American Elite rear. I've considered going "darkside", but I really like curves, so no.

These Commander IIIs are what I just purchased for my ‘17 Roadster. I’ll have them mounted up for spring. Optimistically looking forward to these... they look good so far.
