Default Converting Mid-controls to Forwards...?

Hey folks, old man with first Sportster here...

Wanting to switch from the mid-controls currently on bike to forward controls...

Also wanting to use the Led Sled Customs floorboards...

Have done (some) searching here & with Google; but everything comes back as converting forwards to mids...!

Is it possible to just move my mids forward & get longer linkage bars...?

What I am working with...

Thanks...!

I haven't found anything on actually using mids for forwards.
The parts are different.
I have been collecting articles for the XLFs Sportsterpedia on foot controls.
Here is where I'm at.

The hookups should be about the same and with your custom, you could probably pick which forwards you want.

If that's an '05 frame, you should be able to use the forwards from an '04-'13, providing the PO didn't torch up the lower front of the frame too.

I think all that is left of the original 2005 XL883L is the engine/tranny, rear brake setup, front end, & mag rims...? Oh, clutch cable setup, headlight, & speedo (and a bunch of wiring jammed here & there)...

I will find out more as I tear it all apart...!

It looks like a stock frame (apart from the rear triangle, obviously). The engine is still rubber mounted and everything.

He may have to reshape the front pipe to use a forward mount, there.

I am under the assumption that it is a custom frame, but I cannot get verification from the original builder...

I will find out more when I blow the bike apart...

I really want to run forwards & floorboards, so I will change the exhaust if I need to (and the local constabulary frowns on "loud pipes")...
