Thanks.

It's mainly a compilation of this forum. I'm just a bone collector. I'm learning a ton and having fun with it. I'm glad to hear it is helpful.

We sure could use some help though.

It can happen. I got sick of paying professionals to screw things up. I do 90% of my service now.

The MoCo cranked up prices about a year ago on the manuals
Most of them used to cost like 48.00 USD

Just checked ebay for a manual for my 2006 Sporty as mine is falling apart, many are selling for well over $100, some $158. Cheapest I saw was $89 with $4 shipping. Surdyke has them for $97.46. I may order a new one from them to replace my falling apart manual

So, always check www.repairmanual.com (the parent company of Cyclepedia).

Looks like they have it for $78

https://www.repairmanual.com/?s=2006...t_type=product

Though I'm not sure what they'd bang you for on shipping.

Still it's always a good place to start.

First, don't use google. If you have the app on your phone, delete it. Google tracks your every movement, and it listens to you. Use the Duck Duck Go search engine as it doesn't track.

Now where'd I put that tinfoil!

That is the parts manual which I have (somewhere), and I have the Electrical Manual which that link shows for $109.

But thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to check that in the future. Fortunately I have one for my 2007 Sporty as well. While they are close I want one for the proper year to carry while riding in the IBR since I may need to trouble shoot an issue that is unique to that year when our friend Murphy comes calling. And I cannot rely on an internet connection as I am frequently in areas without sell or data service (yes they are quite common, I spent 1/2 day last week in VA with no cell coverage)

From 1959 through 1965, at least, a manual cost the dealer $4 to buy it from the MoCo and they sold it to the customer for a dollar profit. http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/partsartsplus-01a

My how times have changed.
