Finally got a chance to ride it this year - a 750 mile round trip to the Middle of Nowhere, Central Russia

No breakdowns, it suddenly lost power and stalled once, I blame dirt from a rusty tank. It sneezed few times during the entire ride, but never stalled again. The 1952-67 front fork needs some work done to it, after riding few miles on a really bad pavement the front end now starts vibrating when I press the front brake lever. Also the bike wobbles at speed above 80 mph, nothing serious, I'll work on the suspension over the winter.

The weather was a little nasty on the way back - around 55F and cloudy, but it could be worse this time of year, so no complaints.

good deal.sounds like it wants to be ridden.i would consider checking the ball bearing adjustment on the neck.might need tightening up.

I do like the bubble bags, obviously you’ve also discovered the PROPER riding position for older Harleys and why buckhorn bars are that shape!

Gentlemen, thank you for your replies! Yes, I also dig the bubble bags and the buckhorn bars, I love them just as much as 900 mag fired engines.

Ferrous, it's a short dead end street, bike's parked at the end of it. The trees at the background, about 300 yards away, is actually the territory of a Strict nature reserve, you are not supposed to even walk there. If you want to travel by non-motorized boat through a passing by river, you have to get a written permission. Nice place to escape from city life.

You do understand that your making Russia look like a "nice" place ?

A place we would all be happy to be ?

You've got the look going that I was going after until I turned my frame upside down and saw all the paint missing from the underside. Now it's getting an all-orange paint job. Like your bike, mine is also sort of a hodge podge of found parts, kinda, only a little newer.

Yours is like they were when I was a kid 40 years ago, beat up, black rattle can paint job, but mechanically sound. As they all should be lol.
