definitety go with the FF. I live in southwest Tx. We get mostly rain and cold weather, but no snow. I ride my bike everyday 365. And a FF is the way to go.

I vote for the FF first. 2 reasons 1.) I wasted my money on a windshield and found I hated how it changed the handling of my bike so it was only on for around 12 miles. (want to by a detachable windshield? With the docking hardware included?)
2.) When you are doing a nose dive to the ground, the windshield isn't going to protect your face.

FF for cold a$$ weather. WS for spring & days with no FF. So, both in time.

Got a Shoei GT Air, plenty vents for the warm weather (used them last week when visiting East Anglia). The drop down sun visor is worth it's weight in gold, no more messing about with sun glasses. Had a short ride on a BMW R75 with a windshield in the late 70s when a guy at work swapped bikes with my Triumph Bonneville during our lunch break. A side wind caught the screen & scared the life out of me! Apart from my first year on bikes (74-75) I always wore a full face helmet, like my face the way it is

A windshield should be there to improve aerodynamics if anything. Anything big enough to stop the cold is going to be a windsock and make the bike handle funky.

A helmet is a better investment anyway. Your bike looks better without a big sheet of plastic hanging off the front end, you're safer, and you can use it on any bike (or trike, scooter, ATV, three wheeled car thing...) you may happen to have available.

Nothing like a windshield to me. Get a Memphis shades that you can easily detach. Long rides, no wind buffeting. A lot don't likem. I do.
