I just remembered,it's possible your bike may have been under water after Katrina.

WD40 is needed more often than for other bikes.

Well,

What I understand:
To reduce play it may be worth to screw the Bearing lock nut (the first on left of the picture) to reduce play of the first bearing, and to screw strong the Pivot bolt to reduce the the play of the other bearing.
Any idea of the torque needed to.

BTW what is the size of the bearings ?

instructions for the bearing adjustment are in the f.s.m.they want you to use a spring scale on the swing arm to measure the resistance.

Will see how I will manage.

There are 2 screews: One is the bolt wich is 7/8 (23mm), the other is close to 36mm, I suppose it's a 1 7/16 or 1 1/2 inche.
The 23mm size does not existe in europe, excepte tool for car wheels, so it what I use. For 36mm I do not have so big tools in my ...kitchen. I will have to order.
Anyone can mesure if the size of the tool needed is 1 7/16 or 1 1/2 inch (for the Bearing lock nut) ?
