Default Does anybody know the difference between these two kits?

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like they are exactly the same?

0372 is $257
https://www.denniskirk.com/v-twin-ma...rd/2010758.sku

0390 is $414
https://www.denniskirk.com/v-twin-ma...rd/2009441.sku

The only difference I see is that one includes instructions....but if you Google the instructions they are the exact same.

https://www.vtwinmfg.com/Instructions/32/32-0372.pdf
https://www.vtwinmfg.com/Instructions/32/32-0390.pdf

There's a HUGE price difference between them, but I for the life of me can't figure out why??? I'm looking to do the alternator conversion and I'm curious as to what the differences are....

You will have to contact them. The 390 says customs apps. The other specifies either a 13 or 14 tooth gear. That's all I see.

The 0390 is made in the USA...the 0372 is imported.

Ahh, makes sense. I'm piddling with the idea of going to an alternator, but I keep reading about seized bearings and broken shafts...but when I look at the post date, they're atleast 3 years old....

I don't have personal experience with the alternators in IH's, but I know of a couple that run them with no problems. I run the bare minimum lighting, so I've never had a need for an alternator.

Welcome to the forum.

I have had more than one good experience with the alternators but that was years ago before offshore MFGRs began copying the good US made one.

Yeah, I’m running the bare minimum for lighting also...I have more draw coming from the Ultima ignition than I do lights
