Default Hybrid ceramic wheel bearings

Has anyone run a set of hybrid ceramic bearings in their wheels? If so, how did you like them?

Used on a lot of Superbike race bikes. Some high end wheel makers offer them as an extra with carbon fibre wheels.Should think the minimal benefit in weight saving and friction on a road going Harley would not be noticed

+1
also i think they could be more brittle and less reliable overtime... like most of the racing parts...
in these bearing's case... especially if used on normal roads...

I'm gonna give them a try and see how well they perform. I just picked up a set of Worlwide Bearing's hybrid ceramic bearings for the front and rear a few days ago. They claim that Top Fuel Motorcycle Racer (Spider-Man) Larry McBride has been running ceramic bearings in his top fuel bike's wheels and tranny for 5 seasons with zero problems. Check out this test of Worldwide Bearing's Hybric Ceramic Bearings done by Brock Davidson. They look pretty tough to me.

I big question I have is whether he is running the same bearing for 5 seasons or if he replaces them regularly as part of getting ready for race day.

Not sure, as they did not specify whether or not he changes them regularly. The website just says: Larry McBride has been running over 25 ceramic bearings in his Top Fuel bike for 5 seasons

It would seem a very good suspension is in order or run the bearing no more than a 1/4 mile at a time.

It may be overkill to install the ceramics in my wheels, but I figured, why not give them a try. If they don't live up to their reputation, then I won't be spending that kind of cash on bearings ever again. I have read lots of threads about HD wheel bearing failures (even in low mileage bikes). Heck, I might be experiencing a failure in my 2018 SGS. I'll have to inspect those too after I finish up with the Iron.

Feck i don't care if you try, in fact it is people like yourself that propel this forum forward. My most miserable failures have inspired my greatest achievements.

Cast ego aside and try...death is not final, this time.
