Default 2001 sportster oil line question

Im about to change out my oil lines as they are original and I've got an oil leak coming from the area that is spraying my back tire (not good)

Anyone know if the oil vent line fitting (on the gear case cover) (circled in picture) ever leaks and needs to he replaced? And if it does anyone got a part number for it? I'm trying to get this bike actually maintained as I recently bought it, and don't mind spending a few extra buck to make sure it's good.

Thanks for the time.

The vent line is sold in bulk - It's 1/4", cut to length.
63501-68B - HOSE, 1/4 I.D. X 1/2 O.D. (RUBBER) (25 FT. LG.) $134.49
Try your local auto parts store...

Here's the parts diagram from Ronnie's for the Gear Case fitting:
https://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche...E%20W/%20COVER

And the lines & fittings at the Oil Tank:
https://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche...%20W/%20FILTER

Here's the Sportsterpedia section on the Oil Tank & lines:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/techtalk:evoil04

Clean the outside of the tank and all the lines - then ride a bit & see if you can tell EXACTLY where it's leaking from... You can still replace all the lines, but you'll know where to pay special attention...

Dude, thank you. I couldnt find a diagram listing like that for the life of me. All Google would give me is pcv shit. And yeah thats my project for Friday. Gonna really decrease the shit out of it so I can know what the actual failure is, then just fix extra to bring the bike to better shape overall.

if you are in there, just as soon change everything or you could be back. all the hose can be gotten off shelf for way less. i personally switched to gates industrial hose years ago. the only crappy thing about the system is the composite "Y" and the having to clamp the hose to the frame which over times messes the end up. i went with brass fitting (pex) and added a screw in plug.

Dude if you can get sizing for all that I'd live to do that to mine as well.

Is the oil spray coming from high up and to the exhaust side of the rear fender? If so it's likely the tranny vent hose which has been an issue in the past. H.D. has a tech bulletin, which can be found in "Sportsterpedia". That hose can droop some allowing oil vapor to accumulate and when enough does pressure from the tranny will cause "spray" to run off the fender. The cure was to lift it and secure it with a ziptie.
