What I did to require a tear-down of my lovely 883, is break off the clutch nut, by forgetting it's righty-loosy and lefty-tighty.
Everything is going good so far. Cleaned the heads and piston-tops. Waiting for new parts. New 12 ton press is ready for action.

BTW I ended up on the DIY path here out of necessity. The FSM is a godsend.
Someone, maybe on this forum said, If we don't learn from our mistakes, why make them
