Default Back at it… Tracker to XRTT tribute project

I “finished” my 2001 XL1200S Tracker build in 2016. It’s a blast to ride, and attracts a ton of attention, mostly from dudes trying to mansplain the bike to me while having absolutely no clue about what it actually is:

But, since taking a good solid hit to the head (which may be why the pic is upside down?), when I was run off the road on the BRP, destroying a new BMW in early 2001, the bike has been sitting, while I’ve been riding the newer BMW. Forgive me, just haven’t had the energy to un-winterize the Tracker. But every time I look at it, I notice the Storz aluminum cafe tank on the shelf behind it, and a few weeks ago I snagged an Airtech XRTT fairing off eBay. There are too many ugly scramblers on the road these days, so it’s time to make my girl even funkier, less practical, and harder to ride. I’ll start off by cleaning up and mounting the tank and tail section and installing clipons (the XRTT fairing mandates a very low bar mount, I’ve been told). The fairing will be Phase II for sure, and I’m certain to need a high-mount exhaust, and especially a frame-mount bracket. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s fabricated a fairing bracket or done a build like this.

I’m eventually aiming for a bike that looks like an escapee from a 70’s race grid, a privateer’s low-budget rattlecan job, like the F2 Ducatis I raced. It’ll have the factory paint job, but far from perfect, with plenty of scratches and overpainting.
