Default Clutch basket noise after removal

Anyone have a diagram of the parts going in to a94 sportster 1200? I changed my stator late at night over the last 2 night and when I picked up the basket/magneto there was a beveled washer under it that I diddnt see when removing so in it stuck somewhere.. I thought I got it in the right place but the bike is pinging like crazy it's not a flat washer it's more coned shape.. I took a picture but can't upload or can't figure it out.. please help.. thank you
