Default Front fender legalities in the UK

Hi all, anyone else riding without a front fender in the UK.
I know it's not legal to do so but has anyone had any issues with the boys in blue?

I rode a chopped BMW with no front fender for the better part of four years without any police involvement. I only fitted a fender for MOTs and during one winter when it pissed down for three months solid. This this was in South London. I did get pulled over twice for failing to display the number plate but neither time was the fender mentioned.

I'd like to think it was the police being reasonable but I suspect I've just hit the age where I look too old to be a menace to society.

There is absolutely nothing in the MOT manual regarding the fitment of a front fender.I have also checked the VOSA inspection manual and there is no legal requirement for a front fender.
Take it off and dont worry about it.

Absolutely, I haven't got a speedo and my tester said "I can't test it anyway" and it's no longer listed on the requirement sheet.

I ran without one for a while in Norfolk and kent, no problems apart from water in the face on the odd rainy day.

I removed my 48 front fender within a few days of getting it home.

The fork brace on its own could be argued was the fender

Not had any interest from the law yet though - or the noisy exhaust, or the 7x5 plate, or the tinted visor.

Maybe I is invisible

Well now,...this is interesting.
I was talking to my friendly MOT man today,he says that the front mudguard/fender IS a legal requirement in the UK for road bikes.But,...there are no laws on how long it should be.So a fork brace could seen as a "mudguard".
The front fender is not required for the MOT inspection, but if there is one fitted,it has to be secure and not fouling the brakes, tyres, etc.
Weird eh?
