Damn man I can't imagine.

We've got multiple family members in San Fran and they're telling us they can't go outside without a wet t-shirt over their faces. And one is pregnant...

... Hope things improve soon.

You have "raked your woods" right?

I didn't realize that SF was catching the smoke. That's hard to live with. It got bad here in the Inland Empire a few years back in a fire. It left ash on everything too, so you know you have to be breathing some of that in.

"raked your woods"

A very old (known to friends as "Dirt + 5) friend of mine shared an ancient quote from an old boss of his with me. "It's not that he knows not, it's that he knows not that he knows not".

Yeah our family is saying you can't find breather masks anywhere near SF, and even Amazon is sold out. So Jenn's parents sent them some from the east coast.

I didn't bother reading the article, but noticed one today claiming the haze we've seen here in NJ recently was a result of the CA fires.

We live just 5 miles or so from 100,000+ acres of forest and occasionally have gotten a little smoke from smaller fires.

But still can't imagine that level.

I took these 2 pictures in Fremont on the 9th at about 4PM
The haze has been persistent.
Manteca is reporting improved conditions.
My heart goes out to all the people who have had their lives forever changed by the fires.

Hey Calcustom,

I work in Fremont and the air here has been horrible. I sit near one of the exit doors and every time someone opens that door most of us start coughing. It's been pretty bad for weeks.

We had a fire across the street from my house Friday and most of the smoke drifted the other way. Today's rain is a much welcomed gift. Hopefully it helps get the Camp Fire under control. My co-workers family has lost 4 houses, but no family members lost.

Friday when I found out about the fire near my house, I flew home. Good to know my S3T can hit 100 with little effort. 880 was mostly clear so I made it home in about half an hour. That is far and above my new record and one that will stand for a very long time. We had the cars packed ready to bug out as we watched the helicopters and spotter planes fly right over our house. Our local volunteer fire department is less than a 1/4 mile from the fire and they and Cal-Fire had it 50% contained by nightfall.

Firefighters ROCK!
