Default Central Ohio Group Ride?

Anybody out there from Central Ohio want to do a day trip?

We could go just cruise around Columbus for a short ride. I like to go up and down the rivers on the northwest side.

Or we could do a longer day trip down to hocking hills for some twisties.

I'm pretty much of a recluse and keep to myself, but I might be willing to try riding with some others once in awhile. I'm near Clintonville area. Don't know of many others around here 'cept one I just met who lives in Hilliard. I've been planning on a Hocking Hills trip for years but haven't gotten to it yet. If we do that, Zoharo is in Zanesville, and would probably join us.

I live at the corner of 257 & 47 in Prospect. If you follow 257 from 161 past the zoo along the Scioto, you will eventually stop at the stop sign that's in my front yard. Stop in & ring the doorbell or just holler. If you're not too late, I'll ride any where. I'm retired & always ready to go for a ride. Especially on the twisties. Shoot me a PM if you want & we'll get together.

One place to meet up, as almost all Ohioans are familiar, is the Iron Pony on CCC Highway. Another that accommodates the biker crowd is Jack Town Pub on Rt. 40, about half-way between Zanesville and Columbus. Great food with an outdoor patio and a "biker's only" parking area.

Some of the well-known twisties are the Devil's Byway, Rt. 666 out of Zanesville with several routes from there to loop back to either Rt. 40 or Rt. 70 (ie. 208 to 93 South).

Another is the classic 555 run heading South to 78 (the Rim of the World Run)......then over to 278 and down to 56 (with a lunch at JimBo's Biker Bar / Restaurant). Jimbo was a 17 year professional hillclimber.....one of the first to have a sponsor....Coor's Light). Return trip can take in 664, a nice twistie that runs back up to 33 North through Hocking Hills. Adrenalin runs high through one section of Tar Snakes, too.

There are so many routes both North and South. The Rt. 800 that takes you to the Marrietta Serpent, ridden either direction, can make for a LONG days ride.

Amish country is a great run up Rt. 83 to Millersburg and back south a bit to grab 93 S with 40 West back to Columbus.

Choose your poison............its all twisties if ya like. I was at Jimbo's on Sunday...............his opening day for the season........I stayed about an hour and a half watching over 300 bikers come and go, even the "Rocket Bike" and the Chevy powered stretched trike were there. For me, it was about a two hour ride South, great food with enormous helpings, and a shorter ride back of an hour and a half.

Rides can be planned as 175 to 300 miles, depending on who has an "iron butt", for a one day jaunt. Anyone who wants more, Jimbo has primitive camping for $10 a night, once the port-o-pots are in place. He is close to Ash Cave and the other Hocking Hills sights and scenery.

A few suggestions, but I am up for just about any that look good.

As soon as the roads quit flooding and the thunderstorms subside, most of us would probably plan on it. Name the day, hour, and where to meet.
