They're actually the factory struts. After over 3 weeks of waiting for the Burly slammer kit from a local vendor (might I add, about 9 wasted trips), I got fed up and did what it took to Evan Slammer it. Popped the springs off, tacked the shocks closed, and bolted them on! Needless to say, it's a rough ride, but we'll blame that on the missing seat.

The rear fender was a full size bobtail, paid $25 from the same local vendor. Holding it next to my dad's 80's FXR, they're identical. With the vision in mind, I chopped her in half, made the piece on the rear of it, tacked it on, and mounted it up. Still have to finish it up, but I HAD to see what it'd look like.

Thank you very much.

It is, but unfortunately I can't claim that one!

what were you thinking with that rear fender?
We have something in common. I've been lurking for a while, did the mods, and had to join to share. Train of thought: Research, vision, luck, execution...

I don't recall him asking for opinions from anyone, what were you thinking?

Go back to lurking....
Thank you for the back up. I won't change the fender. I posted to share; not too worried about the criticism. I can appreciate opinions, but I can also appreciate people buying their own bike

I didn't say anything negative about the bike itself, it's a beautiful bike, but that fender just kills the look. The stock fender or a full length bobtail would look better on the bike. Not dissing it, just offering constructive criticism.
You're stating that like it's a fact. That is YOUR opinion. I personally think his bike looks just fine as is, not my style, but still looks damn good. You aren't offering contructive critism, you're offering your opinion. Big difference.

And I'm not allowed to share my opinion on a public forum?

Didn't realize that I wasn't allowed to state my opinion on it, even though everyone else has theirs.

Any way you look at it constructive criticism is stating an opinion. Everyone has their own view of things, whether you consider it constructive or destructive depends on how you view the statement.

I agree it's his bike, and he can do as he pleases... but I'm also allowed to say when I think something looks out of place, which is what I did.

I haven't owned mine long enough to do much yet, I work out of town and have only had the pleasure of riding it about twice.

I can try to dig up pics of my old Dyna.

I can't wait to see what Sportster styling/modding skills you bring to this forum. After reading your "view of things" and "constructive criticism" I'm certain they will be nothing short of spectacular.

On a side note, I could care less about your Dyna....

...that's my opinion.
