A girl was (STOP) on the side of the highway exit near where I live. I ask her if she was ok, she tell me she miss gas. I offer her to check her petcock or go get some gas. She tell me she was waiting for a guy and yes the petcock was not on reserve. She was fishing for a that guy. LOL.

I ran out of petrol with my 2013 Sportster earlier this year late at night. Had to push the b###### 1/2 mile to the petrol station. The idiot low fuel light didn't come on. I didn't check the trip odometer. I have now learnt not to rely on the idiot light and will now always use the trip even if it means fueling up much earlier than absolutely necessary. Better to have gas than not.
With my '81 Honda CX 500 Custom (US import) I only get about 80 miles before going onto reserve and then on reserve it is only about 10 miles max so if I use that bike I always reset the trip and carry a spare can of fuel.
