inlet valve
If the breather was puking oil there would be oil all over the air cleaner, carb and port. The port is slanted and oil accumulates and cooks at the back making the black mark on the wall.Nothing to worry about unless you notice loss of power or smoking or loss of compression. Best to have an ebs filter, can or hose. What is the condition of the piston tops? How many miles on the engine?

When my valve stem seals went bad (2004 with pretty low 15k? miles) it was pointed out by a friend that it was smoking heavily on deceleration. I never saw the classic start up smoking like a chevy 350.

You aren’t in dire need of doing anything. If the plugs are staying clean, no puff of smoke on start up, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

So with the super e carb that I just took off, the breather and air cleaner bracket is one unit. The breathers lead to the air cleaner. I'm being cheap and was going to try and reuse the s&s external breather system.
I'm not crazy about the idea of mesh screen breather bolts and having a coat of oil on the side of my engine/pants. I'm leaning towards breather banjo bolts/fittings into a catch can/filter. I just need to find bolts that'll fit with my carb support bracket
I'm not sure how many miles the bike has, or if the previous owner ever cleaned it. I haven't looked at top of pistons yet, but I can imagine what they look like. The bike runs well, but it does run rich. I have Paughco upsweep drag pipes too with washer lollipops to help with the reversion.

DK Customs has a variety of breather bolts and kits.
