The Peach Orchard at the Gettysburg Battlefield

I finally rode to Gettysburg this year. The temps were in the low 60s and the skies were bright blue. I rode KT for about 75 miles on this trip before the end of March.

PA Independent Artillary Battery C (monument, near, right) and Battery F (monument, far, left) operated together here, having been combined due to losses in other recent battles. They had six 3" Ordnance rifles as illustrated by those on display.

It was strange seeing so few visitors (due to the Coronavirus Panic) at the battlefield, which is usually well visited on such a nice day. Empty parking lots and closed businesses. The freedoms for which these patriots fought are being suppressed more and more using expanded rationales and circumstances to scare people into acquiescing.

It makes me think of the oppressive nature of the Civil War on President Lincoln and his fervent desire for the tide to turn.

I was out for a 75-mile ride today in early April - The roads were quite empty.

It was a mid-60's day and the sun was bright.

I took no pictures today --- However, these three Wild Turkeys were part of a group of 12 in my yard the other day - they were not social distancing...

I got out to ride (near the end of April) on a day with temps in the upper 50's and an overcast sky. It was a bit chilly riding in the damp weather.

I stopped by the Susquehanna River across from the TMI power plant - now permanently closed.

It was good to be back in the wind.

I was out riding at the beginning of May. It was in the low 70's (finally) and the sunshine was a welcome sight.

I rode the back country roads for most of the day, enjoying many twists and turns on the mountain roads.

With the recent rains, there were many creeks flowing more than normal.

I was on another ride with my brother.

We stopped by this historic stone arch bridge. It was rebuilt a few years ago and new cap stones installed. I'm very glad to see this kind of preservation.

Another ride in early April.

I rode in southern York county for about 75 miles enjoying the various sights.

I stopped by the Codorus SP at the pavilion. I saw this older couple enjoying the beautiful spring day by sitting on a bench overlooking the lake.

You can enjoy more pics of my various rides at My Motorcycle Chronicles.
