Default Group Buy - Vertical Plate mount that you've never seen before

Had a prototype made of a plate mount I designed, and everything worked out great. I have a couple small tweaks to make, but the overall size and plate location will be the same as what I have now. Going to beef up the bracket a little bit. I spoke to a local fabricator who says he can make them for $50 each if we can get a group together. Obviously would go down with more people involved. He can paint and clear coat in house for another $5, or powder coat outside for about $10 each. Figured I would start a group buy thread, as I'm not sure how many people have seen my other thread. Here are some photos of the prototype mount.

Anyone interested??

You are not going to be able to get an inspection sticker with that in Mass.

I know the law requires horizontal plates. Not to worried about it. I had a cop behind me at a light the other day with this on. Also with expired inspection and registration stickers, and wasn't pulled over. I'll take my chances.

However, if people are interested in seeing it made as a horizontal mount, that could easily be done.

The sticker was good until May, LAST YEAR. Thanks for your concern though.

Weird...a thread about a plate bracket turns into a discussion about expired tags.

Let's talk about the bracket. There's lots of places where vertical plates are legal. It's actually a really clean look, I like it - very simple and uncluttered. How long have you been running it? Tell us more about the construction, what metal, what grade, what weight?

Thank you Mr. Coffee.

It only has about 50 miles on it so far. It is made of 12 gauge steel and was mig welded at that seam. Since it is sprung weight, it should fare far better than the shock or axle mounted brackets. Not certain of the weight just yet, but part of the design tweaking is to add some holes the the large area that the plate attaches to, in order to decrease the weight. I'm also planning on making the small piece more of a triangular shape, instead of the "C" shape you can see in the first photo. This will make it much stronger than the one I had built already.

The plate has to be lighted in Wv. I do like the design and mounting location.

MA also requires lighting. Which can easily be added with a lighted plate frame or lighted bolts.
