Look at the plugs now. Are you shooting black smoke out of any pipe.
Sometimes it is that simple. Being Texan. Running like crumbs flies right over my head with nary a thought given to it.

Edit: I usually solder the end of the braided cable to turn it more into a solid connection on the b carb wire connection screw hole.

Had a little play tonight after work as new ht leads arrived
Hunt through the old spark plugs all bar 1 plus a brand new one got her firing NOT the best BUT we are getting somewhere now
Any tips on ironing out the ruff idle and when you twist her up she bogs or misses but tick over isn't too bad she's quite happy to sit there ticking over I'm still running the same Jets as above 31 and 68

What's your recommendation on spark plugs I personally only use NGK but I have b6-L and B6HS
All the B6-L didn't fire but the B6HS fires shall I keep with the B6HS or what do you use on a 79 ironhead?

Hi all
I've been trying to get her running again after waiting for parts ect long story
She starts perfect ticks over perfect BUT
can anyone please give me advice on as soon as I touch throttle she dies BUT if I SLOWLY put throttle on I can get her to rev up
Jets are 68 main and iver 31 or I have got 0.260 long jet it runs worse on 0.260 than the 31 but still the same result
Please help all I'm getting so fed up of this just want to enjoy her just can't believe how well she start and ticks over great
