part number 52000196
Hi Everyone.
please could anyone help me i have been looking for a seat on the bay.
and found one with a part number of 52000196. which the seller says he brought for a 2018 1200 custom the same as mine.
When i went on the internet to check this part number it is no longer listed so am unable to see if it will fit.
Does any one here now if it was superseded by another number
Thank you very much

I could not find that part number in any of the P&A Catalogs or anywhere other than the eBay listings.
However, the Badlander seats being sold in the 2018 P&A Catalog (52000259 & 52000211) says this:
Quote:
Fits ’10-later XL models. XL1200CX requires separate purchase of Low-Profile Sissy Bar Upright P/N 52300403.
|
I don't know if that notice is due to a safety factor (requiring the sissy bar) or for some kind of mounting reason.
No guarantee the seat you're looking at is 2013 compatible, but if they mount the same, I would suppose so...
The HD compatibility listings are based on a number of different factors and not all are about actually being able to mount the item to the bike.

Hi.
thank you for your reply. The stock seat listed for my current bike which is a 2018 1200 custom is listed as part number 52000185.
But when i have gone on line to check the part number52000196 which is the one listed on the bay. it does not show up anywhere. very strange as normally if a part has been superseded it says under the new part number. Merry Christmas everyone and ride safe

Just curious; did you get the seat and does it fit?

52000196
Hi Crusty.
Yes i got the seat as it was very reasonably priced £70 and had only been fitted to the previous owners bike and removed straight away.
To be honest i have not fitted it yet due to lack of time.
What is very strange though it is definitely a genuine Harley part as it has the label on the underside but no one at any dealership can identify this part number.
I even mailed harley but no reply as yet

Can you post a picture please? HD uses part numbers internally as part of production and not the final part number we use to order it by.
