Probably nothing
the TC88A EX is California emission legal
The TC88A IH I believe was made for Iron Horse choppers

Found it! The EX version has some limits to advance settings to be CARB compliant. Instructions deleted.

I think its been determined that the advance most performance motors do best at don't exceed those limitations anyway.

In fact when opening a new map using switch settings you're given a choice to load in race or ex.
The 2 could easily be compared and the ex modified to see if that's the case.

Right. But do we exceed those parameters really with the maps we run? I'll have to take a look at them and see how far they can be advanced.

Another look at timing tables. I don't have a TC88A. I've got a '17 EFI 1200 with Power Vision but they both use a MAP vs RPM timing table. MAP on this table is KPa so it would need to be converted to in/hg? Simple enough to do. 100KPa is ~30 in/hg. 50 KPa is ~ 15 in/hg, etc.
Just something to ponder. It's a bit different than what I usually see.
Just FWIW.

Note: This is the map I've been running. It started as what would be a "mild" centrifugal advance curve with a vacuum advance can "curve" added and it was tuned from there. Power Vision helped a lot as I could monitor front and rear cylinder knock.

Way different. Especially considering you're a stock 1200 with mild SE cams.
