Thanks for all the warm welcomes! Also, I'm happy to share some of my work! These photos aren't the greatest, but here's some horns I've got lying around:

This here's a cow horn, the most 'musical' horn I've made. Makes only a few different notes, because octaves work differently with conical brass instruments, but still can play some simple stuff. I tuned the notes a while back by enlarging the finger holes, but I don't recall what the notes were :P

This here's my favorite horn I've ever made, using a few different techniques. The base horn (the black part on the right) is a kudu horn, a type of antelope native to southern and eastern Africa. On the end of that I've got some dried cedar bark from a red cedar. I put it on while soaked, so that it dries on, keeping it pretty rigid. It essentially extends the horn, making the sound lower, and adds some lighter tones. You can see just the tip of the cedar on the end of the horn. I wrapped that in rawhide, which was also wet when wrapped, and dried on very rigidly, keeping it all even more together. Then there's a string keeping that on, which I wove from cedar bark. It only plays a few notes, and it's a pretty mellow tone, and I can kinda make didgeridoo sounds on it, though its a fair bit higher pitch than a proper didgeridoo. Works really well for signalling.

These are raw horns, still not sure what to do with them. They're from a musk ox, which are reaaallly hard to come by. Musk ox aren't actually rare, but since they live so far north, they're difficult to find in the states. Maybe I'll mount them on my Buell...

Also I've made a bunch more horns over the years, but given most of them away. I made a really nice drinking horn for my tattoo artist actually, and it was engraved and everything. I would post a pic, but I can't find any :P
