a bit more go.. but not to much. wiseco/pb+ set up
hi,
i picked up my 72 xlch in bits for a complete steal and im in the process of rebuilding it for street use. the heads had been ported and polished with new stock size valves, guides, spring etc.
the cylinders had been bored to .040 over. i have a friend who can get me cheap wisecos so i have a set of their forged 10:1 comp pistons coming for it.
i was thinking about putting a set of pb+ cams or just the exh. valve set they do.
im not looking to get to carried away on this bike as i have another im rebuilding for racing also
i have talked to a couple of guys with early 900cc sportsters that run high comp M.C pistons and they have pb's in the stock i think (59?) with everything else stock and they seem to run really good.
if anyone is running wisecos and pb's together or has done in the past and has any feedback, it would be great to hear.
or any other comments or recommendations would be appreciated

Any competent machinist will need the pistons before they bore the cylinders. You might want to take the pistons and jugs to a machinist, or measure them yourself, to check the piston to bore clearance before assembly. I have no experience with PB+s, a lot of people on this forum seem to really like them, I think Andrews Y grind might be a better match, if you are running ported heads and higher compression.
