2014 and up passenger pegs on 2005 bike
Hey guys. Has anyone tried mounting the 2014 and up passenger peg mounts on an earlier rubbermount frame? I'm trying to relocate the rear brake master cylinder on my 2005 so it doesn't contact the belt with longer than stock shocks. The rear MC mounts to the passenger hardware on the newer bikes. Seems like it might work if I swap the brake line and some of the linkage but just curious if someone has been down this road before. Thanks!

So I went ahead and ordered a set of passenger foot pegs for the 2014+ Sportster. Harley's online store has free returns, so I figured it was worth a gamble. Both foot peg mounts WILL IN FACT mount right up to the frame on a 2005 bike. The only caveat is that there are three mounting points for these brackets and only two stanchions on the older frames. This is only because they didn't want to include passenger foot pegs on every model so they made a different bracket for those bikes that only uses the lower two mounting points on the newer frames. I have ordered the rear master cylinder and the other bits I will need to make it work on my Sporty. Not the cheapest mod I've done but it will completely erase the age old issue of the belt rubbing the rear MC knuckle when you want to bolt on 14 or 15 inch shocks.
