I’ll be in the woods again on Monday morning. Is the season over in NY?

Hey Mike,
Tagged Bambi’s little sister this morning. More veal in the freezer.

Nice. Deer meat is awesome. I bring mine to a processor who makes a bunch of different items.s out of the meat. I usually get the sweet and hot sausage they make and hamburger meat out of what I keep of mine. I only have 1 lb of meat left of mine this year since I gave the rest away to friends already. So hopefully I can get up next week for muzzle and get one more so I can have some for myself.

I have a shop cut mine too. I made 48 burgers yesterday in between the morning and late afternoon trips to the woods, vacuum sealed them in packs of two for me and the wife. Then last night I cooked 6lbs of meatballs, and just now sealed them in packs of six.
Todays doe is a yearling like the button buck so it won’t have more than 20-25 lbs of meat(veal).

You got to love gun season. Going out on Monday for the start of black powder.
Good luck!

Would have been a nice day to ride today. It was easier to grab a gun than to take a bike out of stasis so ..... off to the woods.

I put some miles on today. Nothing massive or impressive but riding comfortably this late in the year is a chance I couldn't pass up.

Hunting season is officially over for me. Spent more time in the woods this year than any other and only saw does and took one. Muzzle was dead out there. 3 of us never saw anything. In 3 days and I even went 1 1/2 hours further north to a different state park which I have seen deer everytime I have been there and saw nothing. Hope you had more luck than I did Mick.
