Every couple of days I get a 100-150 mile jaunt in, my mystery cylinder dropping out somehow corrected itself, hate it when I can’t identify what caused an issue. But yesterday I had the engine light come on a couple times, but no cylinder drop, and I got home safe. This morning the bike started right up and ran good so I pulled diagnostics off the speedo. 17 codes, WTF? Perusing my Electrical Manual and parts Manual just now.

That's likely to be one of the battery cables - Power or Ground to generate that many errors... Take a close look at them...

Here's the Sportsterpedia section about checking the battery cables, voltages and grounds:

Thanks Ken, they were good two months ago but will look again. Am using the stock ground bolt, top of the trans case along with the inside primary cover bolt. Cables at the battery are zip-tied and haven’t been a problem on any of the three Sporty’s but will check to be sure.

We discovered if you get corrosion between that case stud and the case itself it will cause a lot of grief... You might want to move the wires on the case ground up to the Stud at the rear of the primary - Others have found that more reliable...

I did get out for a ride today --- Brrrrrr --- I have heated glove liners but don't usually use them until it's so cold I can't take it on my hands... So, no gloves today - It was reported as 58 degrees...

I rode to Maryland to enjoy some roads I'd bypassed in the past... I stopped at a nature area to take this shot:

Then I rode to Westminster to enjoy some rectangular Ledo Pizza... MMMMMMMMmmmmm!!!

Then back toward home using some other new roads...

Nice to be in the wind again...

I have still NOT gotten a December ride. I was greeted with this today.

The temps have been below 50° (or it's been raining) so KT has been impatiently waiting for me to don my warmer clothes
and use my heated glove liners to get some riding time. (OK - I hear you hardcore buggers laughing... )

Hopefully we get a nice day or two above 50° - Soon!

I couldn't wait any longer for a warm day in December - the forecast is for 30-degree temps this week - Over the weekend, I headed out with temps in the low-low-40s - and the wind was whipping like a scorned schoolmaster...

It seems no matter which direction I was riding, it was into the wrath of the wind... It was c-c-c-c-cold!

This time the weather guys were right - Yesterday it snowed - only a little - but still messy --- Then overnight, into today, we got this:

So it looks like I made the right choice to get a ride when I did - cold or not, it was great to be in the wind...

Well Ken, been getting out most days, and some nights. Temps have been all over fromlow teens to high 30F’s, 150 miles yesterday but only50 today. The bike does like to cold dense air though!
