Discovered oil on the bottom of my clutch cable. Looks like the end at the primary is leaking a little. Any recommendations for a good clutch cable? Just buy another OE, or look elsewhere?

Also finally broke the seized up O2 sensor plug loose on my front pipe, and the head is mangled, so it's "tuning time" again until I get some new 18mm plugs. O2 sensor is back in and I get to see how bad I've had this carb set up since I changed the intake.

They are OEM quality and definitely worth their very high price.
I've never understood how those would be helpful. Unless you're just dumping a fixed amount of fluid in there and calling it good, you'll need to pull the caps anyway. But, my caps have been in and out a half dozen times in the past six months and I've never had any trouble doing it, so maybe I just don't see the need.

Default Fork caps

I used the appropriate size socket with a 3/4' drive and a 3/4" drive 10" (or so) extension to find it straight forward to do. No damage to the chrome caps, either.

Is there something wrong with the cable?

IIRC there's an o-ring on the fitting where the cable passes through the cover. That's likely the source of your leak.

Default What did you do for your sporty Today?

New black control levers, Clutch lever perch, clutch cable, and drive belt(to go on)changed the oil, primary oil, spark plugs. Installed a CVP carb tune kit. Having rear wheel balanced today, then I can bolt it all back together to test ride and further carb tube.

Changed the oil, mounted my water jug that I use for long rides, mounted a cell phone mount on the bars, cleaned up a connection on my XM radio that caused it to go out when it got wet.

This weekend I washed both bikes and my Mustang.

Removed the fairing from the sportster, it is looking rough and needs sanding and a repaint, the clear is peeling off from all the bugs this spring.
Today I rode the Sportster to work sans fairing, most likely be going over wet roads and probably through a storm or two this afternoon headed home.

Saw a disc bolt had backed out on the SuperTrapp muffler, strange, ran it inby hand and found it would just spin, damn. Stripped threads how does that happen running down the road? Had one other that stripped when changed the open cap for a closed one. Checked the rest and another one doesn’t feel good, the others took a little to snug up. Hoping it gets me to the Meet n Greet without issue. Right.....why does this stuff always happen to me?

Over-tightened cold, expands when hot, strips.

Well I changed caps over a year ago and probably 20,000 miles, guess it takes a bit of time?

Began an in depth detailing. Spent 6 hours on it. Probably spend another 6 on it tomorrow. After detailing I'll wheel it out and that should do it.
