Help required for Motogadgeting all the Things
Just wrapping up the wiring on my ride. I decided to do standalone electrical throughout, incorporating Motogadget solid state circuitry, Lithium reg/rec charging and Battery and Cycle Electric alternator components.
I cirrently have the m switch mini, m button and m lock installed and functioning correctly. The extra button on my switches serves as a programming button for the motogadget motoscope mini.
I am looking for info for the right connections if using the following with no Harley OEM wiring whatsoever:
Motoscope Mini
m unit
tc88a
oem speed sensor (2005 883L >1275 conversion)
I'm looking for the tach and speed sense connections from motoscope mini to m unit and tc88a
Currently I have it connected this way:
white speedo (mini) to white from VSS
yellow speedo (mini) to brown from tc88a
I had read somewhere that the yellow from mini should go to the pink from tc88a coil harness.
On the motogadget site the pdf for the mini links a whitelist of compatible sensors and shows the 05 as a 3 wire hall sensor. Not sure about that one being 12v or 5v.
What I currently get by changing the impulse filter level is a bike that jumps to 282 km/h rolling out of the garage. It's hilarious and an ego boost but I want it to work right. Is this just a matter of using the teach function?
Help is appreciated. Everything else works.
I'm running the power source for the mini from switched ignition. I read somewhere it should be on one of the m unit Aux Outputs.

The stock speed sensor is
A. red to red/white to factory ICM position #3, which is 5 vdc power
B. blue to white/green to factory ICM position #10 speed input
C. black to ground

Reason: 3 wire factory speed sensor is 5 vdc from factory ICM

your identifying an ICM and I take that to mean Ignition Control Module. Do you mean the Daytona Twin Tec TC88A?
Position #3. Do you mean pin #3?
My speed sensor came from Drag Specialties and has Red, White and Black wires. Red and Black are 12 volt and Ground and the white is the signal output from the sensor.

I see that the TC88A produces a 12 volt square wave output. Does this mean I need to use a 12 volt to 5 volt converter (usb charger circuit)?

Here's the Whitelist I found that says the 04-06 have a 3 wire 12 volt sensor

Could I not just use a 95-03 VSS that has the 12volt based output?

I don't know if the 95-03 VSS fits properly on the 2005 engine.
The stock 2005 VSS is driven by 5-volts on that model, but I'm wondering if the internal components of that sensor might also be able to withstand & operate properly with a 12-volt supply, causing a 12-volt output.
Since the 5-volt sensor is not compatible with the motoscope mini anyway, if you can't resolve another option, you might try using a 12-volt power source on that sensor & check the resulting output...
 - I'm just spitballing something here...
Don't confuse the Tach signal with the VSS signal.
As to the tachometer, you should be able to take the TC88A output (Pin#2 BROWN Wire) and use that to feed the motoscope input on the YELLOW wire.

I was prioritizing information and a speedometer seemed more important at the time.
Thanks! I'll let you know how it works out.
