Monte, Looks like all the answers you got are suspect. You'll just have to accept the fact that the piston hit the valve and move on.
Or maybe it was the valve that hit the piston?

Is your valve height correct? If new seats were installed and they weren't ground to achieve correct valve height, the valve could be sitting too far down, hence the contact with the piston. Just thinking....

I appreciate all the replies, all good info, the Cams were found one tooth off from the Pinion Gear, has since been corrected, ride safe...
