Default 21 inch front wheel and speedo drive

my 1977 ironhead had a pushbike electric speedo fitted it never worked right.so i got two new speedo drives for it a cable and a speedo. the front forks are 39mm from a 2004-2006 I took the wheel out to fit the speedo drive but the wheel bearings are flush with the wheel so I cant put the speedo drive in so ive been looking for a nother 21 inch front wheel and Im looking at a wheel from a 2000-2003 witch will take a speedo drive but has no rotor will the rotor from my old wheel fit I know if it does fit ill have to drill a hole for the speedo tang to go in. phew
