Electric trucks are nothing new. They were used in Philadelphia from 1910's to the 1960's to deliver newsprint. The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles has one.

Will they replace over the road trucks? Not likely unless there is some major breakthrough in technology. However I could see short haul trucks going that way over time. But again it would need an improvement in technology, but perhaps not as drastic as everyone thinks

Here is an electric truck at the Boyertown

in Italy starts from the friendly price of 34,200 Euros

they claim

225 kms (not miles) on urban environment
142 kms (not miles) on twisties (but they add also that it depends on the riding style)

may they think we are all a bunch of rich dumb?

Without visiting the gypsy lady, I'm not making any predictions about what the future holds. I've witnessed way to much technology advance in my lifetime! As for electric trucks though, yes even over the road transport, I wouldn't bet too much on that not happening. As I like to remind people, it's only been a little over 100 years since those driving six horse teams looked at the early internal combustion vehicles and laughed about them being a threat. And then of course diesel ELECTRIC locomotives have been THE standard in long distance railroading since they displaced steam engines more than half a century ago.

Just saying... Never say never!

Godard.
Know why jet packs don't fly much?
Because getting 90% hydrogen peroxide is almost impossible. Thanks to 9/11
