Very nice. Now I'm wondering if I should go with a chain because it's supposed to be the easier solution or if I should look for a Victory belt like yours. Still have plenty of time to think about that one. I won't tear into my Sportster til about late October.

Hey In the Wind,

I just "finished" my 04 hardtail and have run into the same issue with chain slap. I'd consider swapping over to belt and wondered about your opinions on that. How do you like it so far? I see you're running a tensioner with it, is it a skateboard wheel? Does it help?

Thanks for your help!

hey dude..
sorry for the delay in answering..i work nights, and can't answer w/ my phone/no p.c.//...ok so i love the belt..no throwing grease, slap issues gone totally--as you know the chain is very heavy and reverb or whatever you call it is inevitable..the belt weighs next to nothing compared to the chain--no noise, silent operation,no maint.,and very trustworthy--they are on all types of bikes w/ lots more power than a sporty..i am running a stationary tensioner,no spring load..not a skateboard wheel its from monstercraftsman.com,,highly recommended, john over there runs a hardtail for one of his personal bikes...his products are top notch and he is very helpful if you need him on the phone..remember tensioners ALWAYS go on the bottom -not the top (torque side) i have a chart that determines what you would need for a tooth count based on how far apart your frt/rear pulleys are-- mine was a 4 inch stretch so i lucked out--i will help you w/ info as much as possible, anything i can do-- let me know center to center measurement between frt/rear pulley and i will see what tooth count you need--if that helps--if its the same as mine i can give you that part number and where to get belt..
hope this helps-let me know..
on a side note my bike is for sale had enough fun with it and can only ride one--
