Ken, looks like me when loaded up to return to Michigan from Florida two years ago. 200 miles on a set of ELITE III’S and found metal hanging out. Used one of them fancy, smancy “Stop n Go” mushroomhead plugs and put nearly 19,000 miles on it. The back tire of course, much more particular with the front tire issues.

That sucks!
Well, on the plus side, at least it didn't blow out at speed.

I went out for a few hours last week, pulled into the gas station on the way home to end up with a dead battery as I was leaving.

It used to be that everybody had jumper cables in their vehicles.
Now I get blank stares and "I have some at home".

Not only do I have a set of jumpers, downsized for bikes, but I travel with a “Micro Start” jump pack!

I carry in the trunk - Heavy Duty - Never know when you might need them or can help out - I have even used them on my lawn tractor when its battery went bad...

Since they were due to be replaced anyway, I just ordered them up now... If the tires had been newish, I might have considered a plug... But - late yesterday, the new tires arrived... So this morning I'll be pulling the wheels & having the tires swapped...

I don't know where I picked up that screw/nail... I'm certainly glad it didn't deflate while riding... Some of the places I ride are just randomly selected roads - I'm never really lost, but I don't always know exactly where I am, either... It'd be tough to explain how to find me to get picked up...
