Default Falling out of 1st

Maggy is running a jockey shift set up (not sure if that matters here) and sometimes when coming to a stop she falls out of first gear. Kinda sloppy getting back into it and staying there. I eventually get her going, and it’s not all the time. I think it is something starting to fail. Before and wrenches come out, thought we could discuss it a bit.

Could be the dogs on the countershaft starting to wear. I had it happen to my bike wear first and second would not stay in gear all the time and I had to change my 1st and third counter shaft gear if I'm remembering the numbers correctly to fix the issue. I would shift up and it would clunk like it went into gear but when I would let off the clutch it was like I was in neutral. Also when I was in gear it took almost no pressure of my foot on the shifter to pop it out of gear without using the clutch.
I added the baker smooth shift drum at the same time as well as changed out all of the spacers and bearings while I was in there. But it could also just be the detent clip coming lose and the tits on the detent plate are not engaging properly if it is hard to get it back into gear.

In the Sportsterpedia, here are some areas to look for wear when you go in.

Sounds like a good inspection of all the parts are in order.
Egg shaped dowel holes are common to see and it will also help create slop.

Thanks for the links XLF. Had her out today for a good long ride. No issues so I think it is early in the wear down...i need to get her up on the lift one of these days to pop off and weld up the oil tank (again), so i will put this inspection on my list. Pic from today:
