Yep totally toast. I’ve got the cycle electric one on order just waiting for it to ship. Also I found out that my old actron multimeter doesn’t read voltage correctly good thing I have one of those tiny analog craftsman one that I was gonna throw in my tool roll. Looks like I’m in the market for a used fluke dmm

Hopefully that will sort it. The HD destruction manual is detailed on testing earths - probably with good reason.
They specify zero ohms - your meter ideally needs to be able to test resistance as well as voltage. I had go to
corrosion free fixings to reliably measure zero ohms on the regulator earth. A light spray of deoxit on the contacts
every six-months and so far it has remained within spec four-years later.
