I had a good one. Not as dramatic as yours. Just rode around and learned I will be using these Neck Straps because the fairing throws glasses off my head.

I've taken Friday & Monday off, to travel to Mountain Rest with two other couples. One couple doesn't ride, so we're not taking bikes. Looking forward to tubing down the Chatooga River and relaxing. Coffee in the morning on the front porch there is one of my favorite things, but until then, I have a pot of work coffee. How are ya'll?

Ever invite someone to vacation with you, and then regret it? One couple is that is going is easy going and a pleasure to be with. The other couple (all the wife, I'm sure) has been a pain since the word go. Waffling on going, wanting to take dogs, then wanting to leave early and get the key to the house (not happening), to leaving early and finding something to do like check out waterfalls (which is what we were planning to do together). Shannon quickly agreed this would be the last time they get invited. I had Shannon send a link to 2 falls next to each other. One is easily accessed. The other, when investigated online, reads to be an easy and short hike. It is not. I've only been to the falls once, and it was such a long hike, I was considering throwing myself off the mountain so that I could be airlifted out. She took it upon herself to send a link to a restaurant at the base of the mountain that has good food,....at about $50 a plate. I love that woman so much. Anyways, good morning, ya'll!

Sounds like fun Fred. I asked a local buddy if he was going to ruidoso. He told me he sold his sportster for 4 grand since he last saw me.

So I guess he aint going.

Scooter is ready and packed. Not taking coffee or cooking stuff. Plenty in Ruidoso and towns during the trip to cover that . I'll probably buy some cherry cider and Jalapeno/Cheese French bread in Cloudcroft. Wife likes that stuff.

Leaving Friday morning . Kinda antsy.

Well, got in last night about 8 PM from my trip. 1541 miles.
All in all it was a good trip despite all the rain.

Will post a trip report once I sort out things but I did not get as many pictures
as I would have liked. Navigating mountain passes in torrential downpours is
not conductive to photo ops...

Fred, do let us know how the other “wife” works out, not sounding too promising for the start already.....
Harry, I know the feeling, hope it all goes well for you and your brother, keep it safe and remember-take your medicine! Have Holley safety pin it to your forehead!!!
Declan, happy your trip was successful, albeit a bit wet, my Springfield Mile outing was lots of rain. Our Midwest is slowly submerging!!!
Everyone, percolator is all set for the morning, help yourselves after sunrise.

There is nothing so wrong with submerged in my book.

I love being submerged in books, not so sure about being submerged in the Mudwest.

I'll take that cup Paul. I guess you guys are drowning. While I am cooking. Gonna be 110 F today.

Heading out tomorrow morning while dark to beat the traffic and heat. Should be in the 90's down here in the flat lands this weekend. Ruidoso will be sunny and in the 80's F range . Gets down to the mid 40's F after it gets darthe k.

Just put my portable jump starter/charger tool on the 115 vac plug to recharge it's stuff.
Is all I have left to pack. Insulin and foot bandages are in the shop fridge . So if I forget.
Oh well. I can always turn around. It is not like a East Coast meet and greet distance for me.

Think I will jump on the dirt bike today and shop for some more sun screen.

I made a huge batch of BBQ hash last night to take to the mountain house. All the wives have grocery shopped, packed and planned, as if we were staying in the wilderness and didn't have stores all around us. Even the Dollar General up the street sells beer. Bless there hearts. One of the guys has some kind of portable smoker, so we'll have a nice rubbed butt smoking while we tube down the river, hence my famous hash. People that have had it, swear it's better than Sconyers. I'm proud of that comparison. Sconyers has been a favorite of presidents. Dragging my camera for the waterfalls. Can't wait for 4pm so I can load the truck!
