How about using Deltrans' Battery Tender Jr as an example, it's about as small and basic and common as a "battery tender" gets:

"Complete 4-step charging program (Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode, Float Mode)".

"Automatically switches to float / maintenance voltage after fully charging the battery".

Yes, as low and slow is important to the life of an AGM, but low and slow = prolonged time.

Bulk charging: Up to 80% of the battery energy capacity is replaced by the charger at the maximum voltage and current amp rating of the charger (use caution with AGM)

Absorbtion charge: Voltage is held at a constant 14.4 volts and the current (amps) declines until the battery is 98% charged.

Float Step: A regulated voltage of not more than 13.4 volts and usually less than 1 amp of current.

There are a number of us on this forum, but remote diagnostics is more challenging and usually takes much longer.

That is funny, Paul. A few years ago if the word patience and my name were in the same paragraph, my wife would have laughed hysterically and she has put up with me for 48 years!

Not a big update but got my new Yuasa GYZ16HL this morning and put it in, took the bike for a little 30 mins or so rip around my area.

It's just me but I despise boxed universal terminals with spacers. Maybe it's just because I cracked one years ago on another battery. LOL

HD battery terminals are the best IMHO.

Hope you charged your new battery overnight and ran a system voltage check just to be sure.

Yeah it was 12.8 right out of the box. Idling was over 14. Been riding it everyday, to and from work since I put in the new battery.
