I way 210 and used GBC/Ceriani front forks with fxdx rear shocks. I no longer have the 5 degree trees on my bike.

I don't have a lot of experience riding different bikes so my experience is for this bike only. The handling is a bazzilion times better. I am not sure if it would meet the needs of everyone. I can tell you my purchases of the forks for about 500(list 2400) and the fxdx shocks(Ebay 56 bucks). Money was well spent. I hope you find your handling nirvana. I have found mine.

That's cheating. I'm jealous. I think I am going to have to find your original thread on the conversion.

Just did another test ride, forks seemed too bouncy, not enough dampening. I increased front tire air pressure from 30 to 33 and that took care of it.

Did another test ride, didn't like the bouncy forks, changed to 10 wgt fork oil, now a bit too stiff. I will try taking out about 1/4 inch preload and sucking out about 1/4 inch oil and test ride tomorrow.

A final update. I ended up with 13 oz's of 10 w fork oil. Front tire pressure to 36 and rear to 38. I added 1 inch lowering blocks to the RK air shocks which I run 12 psi (soft for highway) to 20 psi (hard for twisties).
