Default Fxdx shocks for 2 up touring.

I have been reading up on here about shocks. i have 2 sets of shocks now for my 1200r i have the stockers and stock shocks off a custom model. ok the stockers 13 1/4 inch shocks are way to soft for me and my wife i weigh about 215 she weighs about 125. so the custom shocks work better than the longer shocks but the ride is pretty stiff even 2 up. but we still bottom them out. so i bought a set of FXDX shocks off ebay for 65 bucks i think i got a good deal. i havent received them yet so i was wondering will these shocks give a good ride and still not bottom out. i was thinking that the springs are stiffer for a dyna so i hope i dont have to crank up the preload all the way. and use some of the dampening. so if any one is running theses shocks 2 up if you have any input would be great. thanks Derrick

If you paid 65 bucks you got a deal. I paid about the same but most of the time they go for about 250. Are your springs black and do they have the soft hard adjustment at the back. I have seen other sets listed as fxdx that are not the real deal.

They are very well sprung. I had them set tight at first but they are so hard that I had to take them down to the lowest spring position where they are perfect. I imagine the adjustment of the springs will be perfect for your extra weight. It is hard to guess what it will do for you because your bike is 100 pounds heavier than mine. I suspect that since they are made for a heavier bike you will be very happy. Can't believe they had a 65 dollar buy it now. Now that is a steal, the only person I know that get a better deal than you is me. I bought them before they became so popular amongst us sporty riders. You got a great deal. They are def. the real deal.

Hey all just got back from rolling thunder today. wanted to let you guys that the fxdx shocks rock. we rode 2up for 450 miles in the last 2 days i didnt even mess with the preload on the shocks they ride great. i want to drop the preload and see how they ride. no bottoming the shocks out little bumps that bottom out the stockers you barely even feel its is great i am so happy. the best 65 bucks i have spend on my bike.

Kind of funny how the prices very so radically on Ebay. Bought mine for 56 bucks and I saw a set go for over 300 the other day. The prices are all over the place.
