Leather based armor added gloves. Love a pair of gauntlet coretechs for quite a while. Not fully waterproof but good for all but sloppy weather. Have 2 pairs of lighter wait, short cuff leather + armor pieces for warmer riding. 1 pair was Icon and a newer, better armored though hotter pair is ... um ... clearance find. Don't recall.

I wear baseball batting gloves most of the time. When it gets a bit chilly I rock 509 back country snowmobile gloves.

Depends on the time of year, I have a excellent pair of American made leather gauntlets with the space age lining, good down to 45 degrees, Summer I wear a glove like the sport bike riders wear with knuckle protection. Also have a light weight vintage leather gauntlets found at a estate sale.

Always gloves.
Different types for the temp.
Thinner reinforced leather for the summer.
Insulated mechanics gloves for the cooler fall.
Heavy gauntlet for the colder weather at the beginning and end of riding season.

I always wear gloves.
Why?
If you've had hand rehabilitation you understand. Forty years ago, and it still doesn't work right.
