I have seen it on bikes before and the clear cover just gets covered in oil and condensation so it makes it hard to see through it.

You will be able to keep the window clean, unlike Suzuki and Kawasaki oil windows. Gives it a "mechanical" look!

Hi Nibelungen,is that last pic taken on the side stand or with the engine
running ? I just changed my primary fluid and put just under one litre in
which didn't bring it up to that level.

Engine off.... and side stand mate...
that's the reason of a so high level...
instead with the engine running at idle... you can see hypnotic twirls of oil... like watching a logfire... not at all a quiet level like in the pic...

FYI...
with the bike jacked i had controlled a couple of minutes before the transmission oil level and it was perfect...
I.E. touched the edge of the diaphgram spring...
appreciate your attention...

P.S. one of the reason i bought that derby... is that from now on i can check the primary oil level without remove the cover...

Thanks for the info.I like some of the RSD stuff but not so much the prices.
I got a genuine RSD Nostalgia velocity stack at under half price last year and teamed
it with an xotix steel mesh air flilter and I think it looks great and certainly upped the
power.Had 4 days in Rome last week ,beautiful city.

Default this is the email sent to RSD service

good morning

my name is Daniele and i have bought a year ago circa... a
Sportster RSD clarity line contrast cut derby cover from a certified retailer on the net...

the part was delivered and installed without issues...

worked great for some months...

overtime started some problems with the policarbonate
lexan window...

i think the bolts that retain the policarbonate window are
overtorqued since from the factory...
the customer find them already installed and torqued...
overtime that item devoleped tiny web cracks... near the bolts... that are growing constantly... eventually it ended leaking...

since the price of that item was hight (near 250 Euro) i expected a better quality from your part...

i saw you had a service repair kit for some of them but not for the Sportster derby cover...
so
what i have to do? I have to dump everything... and in this case i will never buy an RSD product.... or maybe i could be assisted from your service department...?

thanks in advance for your time
have a big one
