POLL: How many times have you dropped a motorcycle?
The most basic principal of riding a motorcycle is keeping it upright on two wheels. Unfortunately, mistakes do happen...
So? How many times have you dropped your bike? Bumped it while parked? Lost your balance while pushing it? Dumped it doing a slow, tight turn? Did you lay it down at speed? <yikes>
I'll start... I dumped my first bike while "training" with a buddy on back-country dirt roads in Pennsylvania, on a slow 10mph turn... locked the front brake. Also like a dumbass, I think I dropped my second bike on two seperate occasions while moving it walking (pushing it). I almost dropped the Sportster my third week of ownership pushing it... I have vowed not to push it any more, I sit on it and duck walk it out of the garage now. :P

Lost my Honda Magna V65 twice. The first time I was riding 2-up with my wife. We stopped to eat, she dismounted on my side, and I had to dismount to the right. I paused, lost my brain, and leaned her over like I had put the kickstand down. The bike went to the pavement, and I snached it back up quickly. It is a heavy bike, but my pride was wounded.
The other time I was walking it in wet grass and I bit it.

I only dropped the Sporty once and I've never dropped the BMW (hope I never do - the fairing has got to cost major $!)
BUT, with the enduros, if you don't drop them every once in awhile, you aren't pushing it!

Don't remember how many times I dropped my CB650, dropped the Hugger two days after I got it. Thought the stand was down. (it wasn't). Did put it down on a trip. Ran a Honda over. Just a couple other times after that. Did drop Sassy on my trip. Going slow and she just went to far. No damage.

I haven't dropped the Sporty yet (and don't plan to), but have done so on numerous occaisions on my mountain bike. Even dumped myself into a patch of cactus one time.

I've never dropped the bike but left the disk lock on once and laid it down. Had two accidents, both driving below 15mph, where a car pushed me off the road/lane and laid it down then too.
