Many years ago an instructor told me he would stand in front of the bike when someone was learning clutch control for the very first time.
As the bike comes forward his hands were placed to operate the clutch and front brake.
George Brown an English drag racer took an old NSU quickly moped 50cc and tuned it to go 70mph.
I met him when he had his shop in Stevenage Old Town.

As Kawasaki Dealer..we had one of the 1st H1 500's, in 1969. I rode it to Indy to break it in! I'm rolling along at 70 or so on the Interstate. Dude comes by in a Super Bee........rolling pretty good! I wave good bye to my buddies following in the Pick up. I roll up alongside the Bee at about 100! Not many bikes were that fast in 1969. He was startled..........i ran with him to about 135 and he got away!!
I can't tell you how many races I won at Indianapolis Raceway on that bike! I only weighed about 125 or so then! Guys would pull their headlight or remove the baffles so they could get in a different class! Sportsters, Triumphs, BSA, Honda..........all Easy pickins!!
