Weird that the new technology still make it go back to Iron Head, those piston almost look like IH ones. LOL.

Not too weird.... You cannot make compression in a 70cc combustion chamber with a flat top piston. Especially with the smallish diameter of our pistons. A SBC or SBF has a 4.00 bore and 57 to 62 cc chambers that net 9.0 to 10.0 compression... At 3.565 it even more difficult to make more than that with a minor dome.

Man, thought I had an exhaust leak. Maybe I have a pushrod not adjusted correctly. Will check that first, but compression is good so maybe I have a hydro solid failing since compression is good. Ticking sound coming from rear cylinder.
For those that run solid lifters. Jim’s solids or s&s travel limiters installed on an old set of lifters I have sitting around? I’ve never used solids, just hydrosolids. The Jim’s hydro’s have 5 or 6 seasons on them. I know Xl dukes had the Jim’s hydro’s fail.

Stock with travel limiters always worked for us.

And would it even matter if I used a set of lifters that I pulled and thought one was not pumping up correctly?

Curious how the hydraulic units in our Evo-style lifters hold up with the big, long pushrods and rockers in these motors...
...not that the mule in my bike's gonna have a problem running .497s at well under 7k.
But when I put a healthy bullet together for this bike, I was wondering about just going straight to cams ground for solid lifters. Then again, that's an issue that's quite a ways in the future

I'm not very savvy in the lifter department for sure. I'm going to order lifters, either jims hydrosolids again, or travel limiters for stock lifters or get some Comp Cams/V-Thunder "Hy-Rev" from Hammer. Really not sure what i want to do. Gonna pull rockers and inspect everything until i find the issue and put new lifters in.

I run S&S lifters. Will be running them with travel limiters with the V643 cams.
P.s. this is not the 883 you are looking for..
